Selling online through Etsy and Shopify

Well I have not been posting on the blog at all since the wedding. For that I apologize. I opened a shop on Shopify and Etsy and am now selling many of the the things I made for our wedding and new items. My brand and shop is called Natural Designs by Rio.  It took so much time to create the items for the wedding that I almost didn't enjoy being a bride to be as I should have. For those that want that handmade look but don't have the time or the money to buy the tools to create the items. I sell them online at http://naturaldesignsbyrio.myshopify.com/ and have a larger variety at www.naturaldesignsbyrio.etsy.com for now. I mostly create hand painted wood signs, but also create breakfast in bed trays, wood candles, shelves, vinyls, and many more new items to come!!!

I also do custom work and am working on opening a shop on 11 main. I am in the transition to making my shop full time and am leaving my full time job for a part time job to make the transition easier. Once I  have more time, I do plan on creating a general blog on crafting, weddings, and working on our 100 year old home. They may be all in one, or in two separate blogs.

If you come to my Etsy or Shopify site from my blog, please contact me on there to let me know and I will give you a coupon code for 10% off your order! :)

You can also visit my Facebook at facebook.com/naturaldesignsbyrio

I have included some photos of some of my products!

Our Wedding Came and Went, and it Was Perfect!

I am so sorry I did not post much after the pocket folds. Things got crazy with the amount of DIY we were doing and working two jobs to save for the wedding on top of it made it impossible to blog.

Our wedding went so perfectly we couldn't believe how well it came out! We had so much help from Wednesday until Friday setting up for the wedding and then even in the morning when the flowers had to be put out, our friends and family were so good to us. So thank you everyone that helped. With out you, our wedding would not have came out as beautifully as it did. It was the day of our dreams!

We got married on August 16, 2014. The weather was almost perfect with a temperature in the 70s and plenty of sun. It was pretty windy during the ceremony, but by time the reception started the wind died down and everything went great!

The list of DIY is below:
  • Pocket Fold Invitations
  • Moss Table Numbers
  • Coasters-Wood Slice
  • Wood Slice Charger Plates
  • Grape Vine Arch
  • Tags for Tree Wedding Favors
  • Napkin Rings
  • Card Chest
  • Signs for our chairs, directions, end of the roads leading to the wedding site, lemonade stand, and guest book.
  • Lace Covered Candle Jars
  • Flower arrangements, boutonnieres, and bridesmaid bouquets
  • Place Cards
  • Antique Window Seating Chart
  • Branch Candle Holders
  • DIY Wire Bridesmaid Hangers
  • Personalized Wine Glasses for parents, bridesmaids, and groomsmen
  • Cigar boxes for fathers, groomsmen, and groom
  • Twig bubbles
  • Fan Programs
  • Lace Wedding Flats
  • Bridesmaid Tank Tops
  • Terrariums for centerpieces
  • Junior Bridesmaid flower crown
  • cake stand
I am sure I am missing something but, that is most of what we hand made for the wedding.

We ordered several things hand made by Etsy sellers.
My crown and the bridesmaid's crowns were made by GardensofWhimsy. I would recommend her to anyone wanting a flower crown that does not have time to make them yourself. I did not want to risk my crown falling apart on the wedding day, so I ordered mine from her and had her make the bridesmaid crowns. I wanted something simple for the bridesmaid crowns and something that would match my dress and look pretty when I took my long veil off. The junior bridesmaid's crown was made by my bridesmaids the night before the wedding. I wanted her to have something fun but with color to match the bridesmaid dresses. So we picked the pink peony flower for her crown.

Our guest book was made from white birch bark. We ordered that and a white birch flower box from  SettingupHouse on Etsy. She also did a beautiful job. I was very pleasantly surprised when the guest book arrived and the covers were solid bark, not bark glued to cardboard. Unfortunately, the photographer did not get a photo of the cover of the guest book due to guests signing, but she did get a photo of the flower box and it looked beautiful with all of the flowers.

The flower girl dresses were hand made as well by a woman on Etsy PrincessCotureTutu. She made a custom dress for my junior bridesmaid. I wanted something similar to the junior bridesmaid's dress that was super girly. I think she did such a beautiful job. She responded to every message so quickly and even sent photos while working on my dress. I highly recommend her as well.

The flower girl basket was bought handmade on Etsy as well by Teresa's Plants & More.

All photos linked in this post were taken buy our wedding photographer Amy Miller,
Imagine Photography from Pine Grove, PA I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional photographer.

We had such a magical day and could not be any happier. It was so wonderful to see my husband smile after all the hard work we put into it. It was the happiest I have ever seen him. Everyone had a good time and danced the night away, and we met our goal. For everyone to enjoy themselves in a woodland fairytale for the day.
